SUMMA SIZZLE

Summa Sizzle is a family fun day and music festival held in the parish of Clarendon. The show has veteran dancehall artist Beenie Man as its promotor and spokesperson and can count on a broad base of artists willing to perform. It is billed as the biggest one day show in Jamaica and was back on the scene in 2018 after a long break. Last year’s (2019) edition was very much anticipated and proved a bit controversial also because patrons felt there was a lack of artist coordination on stage and because some highly anticipated billed artists did not perform.

The event is family oriented with activities like football, netball and cricket, a games arcade and a stunt bike show. Towards the evening, it becomes a reggae stageshow. Part of the proceeds go to a boy’s home in the parish of Clarendon.

WHEN

Last year’s event was back on the events calender after a 9 year break. It was held on August 10 2019. The format is a family fun day from 10 am to 5 pm and then a stage show. A date for the 2020 staging has not been announced yet.
